Budo was just one small part of the tapestry that made up the world of the samurai, and they made every aspect of their world into art. The art of pottery was one which surrounded them from the plates, cups and bowls they ate from to the statues and art they decorated their homes with. Mugendo Budogu is proud to have formed an alliance with the Nunobikiyaki Pottery Kiln of Shiga, Japan. Headed by Master Potter Taro Kojima, Nunobikiyaki continues the centuries old traditions of Shigaraki pottery, and extends them into the 21st Century. On this page we are pleased to offer a number of items from the Nunobikiyaki Kiln. Every piece is individually formed and painted by hand, and no two are exactly alike. These pieces are perfect for welcoming guests into the dojo, decorating the dojo shomen, or for use during after practice relaxation and discussion time. |
