hanshi of the All Japan Kendo Renmei and one of the
foremost iaido practitioners of the 20th century.
Mitani Sensei and his son (a 7th dan) demonstrate
all the techniques in the book. The photographs are
detailed, precise and clear. An unusual feature of
this book is that for many of the solo iai kata, there
are also photographs showing the kata performed with
an attacker, so the application is quite clear and
easy to understand. In addition to the commonly
