This iaito is an excellent sword for new iaido students. The mounts are simple, standard mounts, with very tight wrapping. The saya is well made, with horn insert in the mouth of the saya, and a zekimoku finish. At a weight of 820 grams, it's light enough that new students won't ruin their wrists while they learn good technique.In addition, this one is available in unusually short sizes for younger iaido students, down to 2 shaku.
