This is the first of two DVDs covering much of the curriculum of Otsuka Hironori's Wado Ryu. Otsuka Sensei held a Menkyo Kaiden in Shinto Yoshin Ryu as well as mastering Karate, and Wado Ryu is the expression of his experience in both of these arts. This DVD includes the following kata: Heian Shodan, Heian Nidan, Seihan, Gassai, Wanshu, Roushu, and Jutte, as well as Kihon 1-5, Kihon Ura 1-3, Mochite and Kakete, Idori 1-5 and several throws, including Kotegaeshi. Demonstrations are by Otsuka Jiro, the son of Otsuka Hironori, and current soke.
