The All Japan Kendo Federation (Zen Nihon Kendo Renemi) established a jodo section in the mid-1900s under the direction of Shimizu Takaji Shihan, the head of Shinto Muso Ryu jodo at that time. This was created as a way of familiarizing kendo practitioners with a broader range of weapons and to provide a deeper budo experience. In this video, senior teachers demonstrate the entire curriculum of the All Japan Kendo Federation Jodo. It consists of 12 fundamental techniques and 12 kata, 10 of which come from Shinto Muso Ryu. Incredibly thurough, this video shows all the major mistakes that are commonly seen, and their corrections, in addtion to teaching the proper movement and way of doing the techniques and kata.
