$49.95

Kosen Judo was a style of Judo practiced by the 7 Imperial Universities of Japan from 1914 through World War 2. It focused on newaza (ground techniques) and drawing the opponent in, and those who trained in it were renowned for the power of their newaza. Few of them are alive now, but this DVD was made by one of the great masters of Kosen Judo, Kosaka Mitsunosuke before he died in 1998. From 1967 until his death he taught the techiques and strategies of Kosen Judo at Nagoya University.
Kosaka Shihan breaks his instruction into several sections, covering all the major points of Judo newaza. His instruction is clear and easy to follow, and excellently filmed. Some aspects of what he teaches are nearly unheard of outside Japan.
